Light Casino bonus policy
A bonus is money with conditions attached, and the conditions decide what it is worth. This page sets out the rules every Light Casino bonus follows, and shows how to work out what clearing one will cost you.
Each offer prints its own key terms beside the button that claims it. The six figures below are the rules those offers share. See current promotions
Gambling involves risk. Set a deposit limit before you play: the responsible gaming page covers limits, self-exclusion and where to get help.
Six figures decide what a bonus is worth
The worked exampleRead them together. A modest multiplier with a low bet ceiling and a short deadline can be harder to clear than a larger multiplier with room to play.
| Rule | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering requirement | 30× | How many times the bonus must be staked before it, and anything won with it, can be withdrawn. It counts money bet, not money lost. The multiplier is applied to the bonus amount only, never the deposit (for free spins, the winnings from the spins). |
| Maximum bet while wagering | 5,00 € | The largest single stake allowed until the requirement is complete. A bet above it is covered under what ends a bonus early. |
| Time to complete it | 30 days (free spins: 7 days) |
How long you have to finish the requirement, counted from the moment the bonus is credited to your account. |
| Game contribution | By game type | The share of each stake that counts towards the requirement. A game that counts 10% needs ten times the stakes of a game that counts 100%. |
| Maximum cash-out | 5 000,00 € from a deposit bonus; 100,00 € from no-deposit free spins |
The most that a bonus and its winnings can turn into withdrawable money once the requirement is complete. |
| What ends a bonus early | Listed below | The situations in which a bonus and its winnings are removed before the requirement is complete. |
Game contribution
| Game type | Counts as |
|---|---|
| Slots | 100% |
| Jackpot slots | 0% |
| Roulette, blackjack and other table games | 10% |
| Live tables | 10% |
| Games excluded from bonus play | See below |
A worked example: what clearing a bonus costs
The multiplier on its own tells you little. What matters is how much you will have to stake, and what staking that much costs on average. The arithmetic below works the same in any currency.
Worked with our own rules: a bonus of 100, wagering of 30× the bonus alone, a maximum bet of 5, and slots counting 100% and table games 10%. The slot in the example has an RTP of 96%; the roulette is European single-zero.
- 1 Work out the stakes the requirement asks for Bonus × multiplier: 100 × 30 = 3 000 in stakes that count.
- 2 Adjust for the game you play On the slot every stake counts in full, so you stake 3 000. On roulette each stake counts for a tenth of itself, so you stake 3 000 ÷ 10% = 30 000.
- 3 Estimate the average cost of that play Average cost = stakes × house edge, and the house edge is 100% minus the RTP. On the slot: 3 000 × 4% = 120. European roulette has one zero among 37 pockets, a house edge of 1 in 37 (2.70%): 30 000 ÷ 37 ≈ 811.
- 4 Compare the cost with the bonus The bonus is 100. Clearing it costs 120 on average on the slot, and about 811 on roulette. When the average cost of clearing a bonus is larger than the bonus, you finish with something to withdraw only if your results run well ahead of the average.
- 5 Check how many bets the ceiling allows At our maximum bet of 5, 3 000 in stakes takes at least 3 000 ÷ 5 = 600 bets, and 30 000 takes at least 6 000. The ceiling decides how long clearing takes, not only what it costs.
| In the example | Slot, 96% RTP | European roulette |
|---|---|---|
| Counts towards wagering | 100% | 10% |
| Stakes needed for 30 × 100 | 3 000 | 30 000 |
| House edge | 4.00% | 2.70% |
| Average cost of that play | 120 | ≈ 811 |
| Bets needed at a maximum of 5 | 600 | 6 000 |
Our multiplier applies to the bonus alone. Were it applied to the deposit plus the bonus, a deposit of 100 with a bonus of 100 at 30× would need 6 000 in stakes that count: the stakes, the average cost and the number of bets would all double, while the bonus stayed at 100. Check which amount a multiplier applies to before you compare two offers.
RTP and house edge describe averages over a very large number of rounds, and a single player’s result can land far from them in either direction. Game fairness at Light Casino explains the difference between the RTP a game is built to pay and what it pays in one session.
Games excluded from bonus play
Some games cannot be used to clear a bonus: jackpot slots, and games on which a requirement could be met at very little cost because their house edge is very low.
- The excluded games
- The jackpot slots Mega Moolah, Divine Fortune and Gold Blitz Extreme, and every baccarat table.
- Playing them during a bonus
- Stakes on an excluded game count 0% towards wagering, and using bonus money on one to convert it without risk ends the bonus and removes its winnings.
Check the list before you accept a bonus. If a game you enjoy is on it, that is a good reason to play without one.
Your own money and bonus money
While a bonus is active, two balances run side by side. The order in which they are staked, and what happens if you withdraw before the requirement is complete, decide how much of your balance you can take out along the way.
- Which is staked first
- Your own money is always staked first; bonus money is used only once your own balance reaches zero.
- Withdrawing during a bonus
- You can withdraw your own money at any time. Doing so while a bonus is active cancels the bonus and removes its winnings; your own money and what it won are paid as normal.
- Declining a bonus
- Every bonus is opt-in: nothing is added unless you choose it in the cashier — an offer before you deposit, a loyalty reward when you claim it — and you can decline any offer before it is credited.
A deposit made without a bonus carries none of the bonus conditions on this page; any rule on withdrawing deposited money is in section 6 of the terms. If you play short sessions or withdraw often, set the worked example above against simply playing without one.
What ends a bonus early
These are the situations this policy covers, and what happens in each.
- A bet above the maximum
- One stake above 5,00 € ends the bonus and removes everything won with it, whether that bet wins or loses.
- Play on an excluded game
- Using bonus money on an excluded game to convert it without risk ends the bonus and removes its winnings.
- The deadline passes
- Whatever is left of the bonus and its winnings is removed at the deadline; your own balance is not touched.
- More than one account
- Every account except the first is closed, bonuses and their winnings are removed from all of them, and deposits not yet withdrawn are returned.
- Bets that cover both outcomes
- Equal stakes on red and on black in the same roulette spin, for example, count 0% towards wagering, and placing such bets repeatedly ends the bonus.
If you think a bonus was removed in error, start with Light Casino support. If that does not settle it, the complaints procedure sets out the next steps, and the terms and conditions hold the rules this policy sits under.
